In Express Magazine (29.12.96) The Moral Tight rope, The Moral Debate in Politics, The New Indian at the cross roads, Big Brother in the Market place of Ideas and the Unchanging Indian Male. All these pointing towards the pathetic improvements! of our independent Nation and its people. But there was none to throw little light on the root cause. Yes, the population is the culprit. which ruins our culture, honesty, healthy environment etc. Kamala Das says Men lost their virility, Men are good for nothing; Yes, But women are no exeption too. Our population is increasing alarmingly, Is it with the help of artificial insemination? God/Nature created man and woman, we made them husband and wife to provide greate freedom for excessive procreation, to kill the Nature/Mother Earth. "Survival of the fittest" is Nature's rule. But we changed that rule, and now any spineless can marry and have any number of unhealthy children. When the quantity increases naturally the quality is down.
Now it is time to have a strict control on our population as per our resourses. But who will do it. Politicians? No, they will never, because they need poor, unhealthy, illiterate, unemployed people. That is their Vote Bank.
There were greate people who sacrificed their life for our freedom. But in this century, Is there any one to sacrifice at least part of their life for the Nation/World/Mother Earth by giving a helping hand to reduce population?

Final Fling 28 Feb 99 "Women empowered" by Nina Pillai was another shot of her future plan with the mention of her late husband Rajan Pillai for sympathy with a sweet cover of crocodile tears for minor girls used for sex trade, and rape victims (Alleged rape of a "VIRGIN" nun) etc. But it is sad to mention that many readers belive that she is taking undue advantage in a reputed news paper with some selfish aim as I wrote to you in my last letter. And I am happy to read "Rajan Overkill" by Rajeswari N of Hyderabad in the same day's (28 Feb 99) Mailbox of the Express Magazine.
Nina says "In India, women are denied even basic rights such as deciding the number of children they want to bear ?" (At least we could have been able to reduce the population to enjoy an easy life!). And is it true that men alone are responsible for women to bear children? If women want to fight for equality, they must stand on their own legs first. Marriage is an old fasioned custom, so don't do it. Break every rule and enjoy the freedom of right of deciding every thing as you wish. Keep up your own personality, don't mix it up with men. By hanging on somebody's shoulder in the name of marriage, you will have to lose your personality and invite troublesome life. So welcome some new life style against all stupid old fashioned customs and rules which we obey like fools to make our own life miserable for the sake of society. If Nina have a daughter, will she give her the basic right of whome to marry? Or will she break her head to find out the Khandan value of the boy?
Is not sexual starvation the reason for rape? Is virginity applicable only for females? Is it true that male lot alone enjoy sex and females are just sacrificing themselves? If sexual pleasure is for both, why always females expect some reward after sex? Why female sex is made so demanding than male sex? Unlike other creatures of the Nature, human beings are made to starve sexually to maintain the rules and regulations of marriage act for the sake of the society. We treat sex as a crime! Now the marriageable age is raised for some scientific and healthy reasons. Well! But is it possible to extend the nature's desires also by rules and regulations? Is it not time to think about some alternate solution to stop sexual starvation?
If Nina wants to reform the society it is OK. But not the way she do it now. When sparing a thought for Sanjeev, sincerely spare it for Sanjeev. When writing about women empowered, sincerely write about that subject, I think it will convince better. When we prepare curries we can add curry leaves to all, it will give good flavour and taste. But if Nina add her late husband's name to every article she writes, will it improve any way?

Me TARZAN, You? Excerpts from Surviving Women By Jerry Pinto, Express Magazine, 27 Aug 2000 was only worth just going through, there is nothing acceptable by the new generation.
He has interviewed some odd men for his book; unfortunately those odd men hardly represent any of our present days updated category of people. So their words have nothing to do with the present generation.
Of course it would have been better if it was a creation from his own imagination, with out interviewing those odd men with distorted minds. And I don't think that book will do any good for any healthy conscious people, It may be good for the author to sell the book to some particular category of people who are interested in mere reading pleasure because of those hot things inserted here and there.
Some months ago a News item appeared in The New Indian Express about some voluntary organization surveying in red light area of Mumbay and providing free condoms to the prostitutes as a precautionary measure against Aids. But, what the volunteers could reveal from the interview with the prostitutes were well above their expectations. That their customers include a good percentage of school children of below 16 years of age, the prostitutes give them condoms and compel them to use, but the children refuse it by saying that "us mein maja nahi hain". How's that? And here the author says that an 18 year old is escaping from a prostitute and she is saying "Paisa to dena padega". We, poor readers are here to believe what? The below 16 year stuff published in The New Indian Express or the above 18 year character of the Surviving Women?
Under the sub-heading "Surviving Mummy" he says that the husband probably never gave her an orgasm, Yes that may be another great truism. Agreed, but can he assure that she never enjoyed an orgasm? In the Column Voices today and yesterday of The New Indian Express dated 17 Jun 2000, "Sex with out strings; relations with out rings is the order of the day" -The Washington Times. Baba, it is year 2000! If she could not get the orgasm from her husband, there are plenty volunteers who are not "jaldi five" to give her that maja with out saying "Paisa to dena Padega".
Again under the sub-heading "Surviving Female Friends" he introduces an odd man Shahid, who is considering female as something valuable and says that, for being friend with a woman, You have to keep paying. Why can't you think other way Baba, that you are also something valuable. If you are valuable to her and she is valuable to you, then there is no paying, Only sharing. That is what is called friendship. Instead of sharing, if you are paying to be friend with a woman, then that woman is not considered as a friend. She can be anything like an organ or a prostitute, which Shahid considers as valuable.
So the odd men with whom he had interview for his book are not really good representatives of the present generation and there must be such odd women too in our society. Think about including some politicians, who is interested in rapes like activities in his interview, then the whole story will change, is not it? So, what is the necessity of depending on some odd men with distorted mind for writing a book? And, Is it worth publishing its excerpts in The Express Magazine ?

I refer the photograph of Maurice Green and Rosakutty published in the NIE on 17 Sep 2000, The letter "Shed complexes" by TT Devy, Thrissur NIE 27 Sep 2000 and the letter "Culture and play" by Rosy Joseph, Kaloor NIE 30 Sep 2000. Until unless we shed our complexes it is very difficult for us to shine in any field especially in sports. Once we lag mentally, how it is possible for us to go physically?
Our culture protectors will never allow us to keep pace with the world. In every field we lag because these culture protectors think any thing modern will harm our centuries old culture, but they are not capable of stopping it forever. Lips to lip kiss in films were accepted by many countries decades ago but for us it is forbidden because of our culture. But why can't they stop it forever? "Hey Ram"! How some thing bad for our culture in the year 1990 becomes good in 2000? If some thing is bad for our culture we should never accept that, Why our culture protectors accept it when others discard?
Hugging in public? Oh No! Here we are yet to accept sharing a seat in a bus among man and woman. Drinking alcohol, Smoking in public place, Raping minors, Making noise pollution, Corruption, Acting shy in daylight and doing nonsense in dark, it's all our culture! Maurice Greens was cool and relaxed because he had a clean heart and mind which helped him concentrates in his event and win Gold. Wake up and break the culture barrier like our Miss World/Universe, open up your heart and mind to concentrate. If you can't, then let us totally stop participating from such activities, protect our culture and procreate as much as we can, to stand first in population. Why should we struggle in Olympics, when we have so much Gold in our Poes Garden? The Chinese were very strict in implementing the one-child norm years ago and they could eliminate billions of births to improve their per capita income thus healthy people and laurels in Olympics. Eyes of our politicians opened only recently that too for a two-child norm. Praise our culture and fight for caste and religion vice reservations in Olympics, so that some of our athletes can run 90 meters instead of 100 meters or jump 10-cms less to claim a Gold Medal!
In the Olympic tracks only our women athletes were seen in the old-fashioned shorts and shirts. I don't know how they were feeling while standing in the track with all other athletes wearing scientifically improved magnificent out fits for the betterment of their performance. Once our Miss World/Universe are capable of keeping pace with the world-standard why not our athletes?
Our great Gurus preach "Vasudeva Kudumbakam" and we make hue and cry to find differences between western and eastern culture to lag in every field. Let us shed complexes and keep pace with the world to win laurels.

"A Call to our Citizen readers" on NIE was an exemplary guidance to our citizen. Many organizations and TV channels started collecting money as cheque and DD on their address, but NIE asked the citizen to send cheque or DD to PM's National Relief Fund.
If any one can send a cheque or DD to PM's National Relief Fund, then why these organizations and TV channels heading for? It is not out from our memory that several news appeared during Lathur quake, that money collected by several organizations not reached the destination.
The steps taken by the NIE is helpful to discourage fund collection and misuse by many organizations. If one or two does it sincerely, there are many to exploit the opportunity, Even we are getting News about people looting the valuables from the quake site, so be vigilant.
Fund collection and misusing is the order of the day, particularly for the Political/Religious organizations. Let those culprits not exploit the humanitarian minds of our citizen helping the people devastated by the earthquake.

The website of Kerala Education maintained by C-Dit would have been a wonderful site if the administration was freed from the political influences. After putting a lot of efforts to build the site by the experts from the C-Dit, The Kerala Education failed to publish the SSLC results in advance, At least immediately after the declaration of results by the Chief Minister.
Always people expect better things from new technology. Here in our website every thing was fine except the interactive messages displayed for the visitors. The leading news papers wrote "The SSLC results will be published atleast one week ahead of normal date, Thanks for the computerisation". But till May18th noon the message displayed in the website was "The results will be published after 26th May". By May18th evening the message was changed as "Watch out for the results". That means CARRY-ON VISITING THE SITE AND WASTE YOUR PRECIOUS TIME/MONEY, YOU FOOLS! How was that?
The message again changed as "The results will be published on 19th May 0900 hrs". But the results were available in the site much before the said time. How accurate our new technology?
The sad thing was that, The results were available with tutorial college tutors on May 18th morning itself, And the new technology took one more day to reach the candidates!
Again on 22nd May the results link was disconnected with out any prior information. It would have been a descent act to display a message which may read as "The results will be de-linked on so and so Time/Date". So that the poor visitor need not to waste his precious time/money only to see a WARNING "Check your Register #". And carry-on entering the register number to confirm the number entered is correct or not. Alas, What a sadist act!

Contempt of Court
The Honorable Supreme Court has taken action against Arundhathi Roy for Contempt of Court. Two years ago there was an order from the Honorable Supreme Court banning sound horns in public places, but the Government machineries miserably failed to implement the Supreme Court Order. Still the religious bodies blare the banned sound horns and torture the common man every day, especially the children and the senior citizen, Will the Honorable Supreme Court take action for contempt of court against the Government and the religious centers for not respecting the Honorable Supreme Court Order?

This is about the News appeared in the 'LAW WATCH' NIE dated 13 Jul 2002 "Noise pollution HC asks govt. to appoint officers".
There were plenty items appeared regarding this evil since the ban order from the Honorable Supreme Court to save the citizens from its dangerous bad effects.
1. "No right to use loudspeakers" by BG Baliga, Thrissur (NIE, You React, 9 May 2002)
2. "Banging my head against a brick wall" by Psyche Abraham, Trivandrum (NIE, You React, 25 Apr 2002)
3. "Loudspeakers-broadcasting a vulgar taste, The people cannot read or sleep in their homes or pray in a temple" by B Hrdayakumari (NIE, View point, 13 Apr 2002)
4. "Review pleas on loudspeakers dismissed" by Express News Service (NIE, Law Watch, 12 Apr 2002) etc.
But nothing could open the eyes of the authorities to implement the order of the Honorable Supreme Court to ensure the fundamental rights of the citizens to have a noise pollution free environment.
There are plenty people against this nuisance, but many stand by the scoundrels fearing reprisal or the poor knowledge about the dangerous bad effects of the Noise pollution.
The loudspeakers are used by the temple functionaries and street scoundrels as a weapon to terrorize those who don't support their evil activities. They can torture you with/without the permission of the concerned authorities any time they wish, by which you will be harassed while living, sleeping, reading, listening TV/Radio, answering telephone, attending guests etc. in your home. And it is scientifically proved that noise pollution can cause diseases like cardiac problems, blood pressure, mental stress, deafness etc.
During festivals, street scoundrels mushroom in every junctions and wayward with decorations making mockery of the festival with their vital strength "the loudspeakers" by playing film songs day and night and snatch money from the residents near-by and from the people passing through after stopping vehicles. Altogether making the festival a night mare for the residents of that area.
The State Govt. had published a Kerala Gazette notification categorizing the noise zones to implement the Supreme Court's Order on 20 Apr 2002 (Reg No.KL/TV/(N)/12/2002, Vol.XLVII, No.512, G.O.(P) No.64/02.) In that, the places of worship are placed under the category of "Silence Zone" and no loudspeakers aloud 100 meters surrounding the places of worship but still no authority dared to stop the blaring loudspeakers placed well above the places of worship and hardly any body knows about this notification, It should have been a good News in the medias like the Ad. "SMOKING IS PROHIBITED IN PUBLIC PLACES" issued in public interest by the Department of Health Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.
Earlier there were Ads appearing in between the DD News (National) about the bad effects of the noise pollution by a visual of a child struggling to read while the loudspeakers blare, but at present there is none.
Once other states can respond to the Supreme Court's directions on noise pollution, why the 100% literate Kerala can not respect the Supreme Court and respond to its orders for providing a healthy and peaceful environment to its citizens? Who is stopping it? Medias can do a lot!
At least now, Will the State Govt. take the direction of the Kerala High Court seriously, and appoint efficient officers to implement the order of the Honorable Supreme Court by REMOVING all banned loudspeakers, before the Onam festival and save the poor helpless citizens from the evil forces?

From 3 Nov 2003 the Metro channel of DD has been converted as "Share Market Channel" Sorry! "News Channel"
The news which are 3-4 days old and suppose to be buried, are kept in mortuary and served in English and Hindi repeatedly in a BORING manner.
It is more than a week now and no one commented about this in this esteemed media, Because it effects only the poor common man, and not the alight group who can afford a cable connection.
The Metro Channel was an entertainment channel for the poor, Now it has been sold out to the Share Market BULLS! and Cable Operators.
The DD National Channel is for Cricket. The helpless poor common man is fooled by the Government by having links between these vested interests, with the hope of compelling the poor in getting new cable connections.

OLYMPIC TORCH Wonderful reaction with a befitting photo (Olympic medals? .. By Harsha Bhogle, NIE 11 Jun 2004) I watched something like a funeral procession on 10th Jun afternoon with some special vehicles on road in the India shining DD channel. Then I recognized some cola ad in it. Finally the Honorable Olympic Torch in the hands of a pig like human-being in an unfitting sports kit, jogging with his bouncing belly, what a pity or shame! I remember the news published in the NIE about an unwanted stupid who adjusted a berth and misused the Olympic track for kissing and waving hands in a previous Olympic opening ceremony.
I feel it is fine that our Usha, Shiny and other stars who have been in the Olympic tracks have not been invited for being with this tainted activity.
The Olympic Torch is not party flag. I love both Arts and Sports but couldn't digest the stupid event, Neglecting our beloved sports stars in their own event for personal gain is crime and the brain behind this crime which put our Nation in utter shame should be brought forward and punished. Giving chance to bear the Olympic torch to Prasarbharati official gained Kalmadi to show his bouncing belly a hundred times in the DD News channel. Misusing this kind of croud pulling events and TV channel has made many politicians to pay high price in recent times. This India shining channel should be wound up immediately to make it the Metro channel as it was.

The India Telephone Card of the BSNL was introduced with much fanfare. But the customers of the IT Card is being cheated by not increasing the capacity of its exchange, thus always getting the message "all line in this route are busy, please try after some time" and not able to make any urgent calls in time. The sale of IT Cards has increased 10 fold but the capacity of exchange kept as it was.
Earlier it was only during the evening and night, But now during day time also the engage tone/message welcomes you. I am not able to understand how it is so busy even in the early morning hours, on 11 Jun 2004, 4 am onwards I was trying continuously for connection and I was through only at 4.30 pm. and it has become a regular affair now.
There is a date printed on the IT Card and the customer is suppose to use the card before that date, in the present situation it is impossible for any customer to use the card with in that date, thus the customer is being cheated after taking a pre-payment with tax.
I tried to contact the number given in the IT Card's Information page. "For any service complaint, Contact 1600444940" to find it always engaged and once I was through only to receive a warning message that "You are not authorized to use this number" Wah! IT Card!

The use of cone shaped metal loudspeakers in public place is banned by the Honorable Supreme Court in the year 2000, because of its scientifically proved bad effects on mental and physical health of human being.
An order by the Honorable DGP in the year 2002 also clearly says the particular item can not be used at all, and the mic permission for box type speakers is from 6.30 am to 10.30 pm only. and can be given only by an officer in the rank of Dy Sp and above, and the defaulters can be booked for a fine of Rs. 1 Lakh and 5 years imprisonment.
The authority in power is always standby the miscreants who break the rule and use the banned item to torture the poor citizen who suffer it in silence. Not even a single defaulter has been booked till now is the proof for this statement.
There are students on their exams and suffer due to this anti-social activity, especially in the early morning hours. There are many senior citizens suffering from insomnia, blood pressure and other diseases and may be getting their bit of sleep during early morning hours. and all these helpless are cruelly disturbed by the miscreants who doesn't value either education or culture, start their business at around 4 am with third rate records and banned loudspeakers.
Now it is festival time for these "place of worship" turned "business centers" can be found every half a km, and they are licensed to break any rule especially in rural areas. The miscreants distribute enough notices in and around the area to snatch money, and posters are also in place, as it is a regular affair, the interested people know about the festival and they reach these centers promptly, then why the anti-social elements inject devotion with loudspeakers day and night to the non-interested?
It is high time to give strict instructions to those who apply for the mic order, and have frequent check by the authority to ensure (1) The mic permission is not misused. (2) The banned item is not used. (3) The box type speakers are not placed too far to torture particular residents. (4) The timing is strictly followed. etc.
And also to take the banned items in custody immediately, and the defaulter is booked for a fine of Rs. 1 Lakh and 5 years imprisonment.

This is to inform about the misuse of fund by the PWD. On 10 Jan 2005 morning, tarring work was going on over the NH bypass at Kuzhivila Jn. near the Akkulam bridge, Trivandrum.
The portion of the road selected for tarring was absolutely perfect for use, there was not even a single pot hole.
Where as there are many roads pending for tarring work for years together having only potholes and hardly any portion fit to use.
Will the authority wake up in spending the public fund where it is really required? Or at least show kindness to use bit of the fund for filling up the dangerous pot holes in the roads which are unfit to use?
Why the authority can't think about setting up a help desk where public can inform/request by telephone/email for immediate genuine repair work on public roads?

The Loudspeaker Menace and Road blocks for festival, all these kind of unwanted practices are the result of another menace, Devotional Loot.
During festival the people far and near places of worship are looted mercilessly and the same money is utilized to kill them softly with loudspeakers and cause inconvenience to them by blocking roads.
The residents of the whole area near the place of worship is visited by a group to loot the coconuts as they wish as kind and hundreds to thousands rupees as cash with out their will or wish. Poor people around the place of worship is helplessly suffer this menace since many years.
No body is objecting this loot fearing rough deal and suffer in silence. Will any Govt. authority dare to save these poor citizen from these menace? Is the huge amount collected have any sincere accountability? Why this money is not taxable? When will the people learn it is injustice and act against it to save themselves in future?

Sexual truth
What Kushboo did was expressing her view on pre-marital sex, which many practice secretly.
Acting clean in daylight and doing nonsense in dark is a culture widely accepted by our society.
Why on earth we are so much worried about sex unlike other creatures? Our minds are made to focus on it, 99 percent of films are focused on this theme.
It sells because human beings have build up a culture of enjoying titillating actions made by others.
Instead of using the freedom of expression this way, Kushboo should have made a film focusing
on pre-marital sex.
Speaking the truth invites trouble. Making it indirect will have wide acceptance. A kiss in public can not be tolerated by our culture, but the same action performed by others on payment for a film is accepted and viewed in theaters. Laws on sex matters are to be rewritten for easy life in future.
Why marriage is a must ritual, that every one is expected to perform? What is the legal way out for the sexual urge of minority unmarried/singles? Is there any law protecting consent sex?

Sulabh users cheated
When the BSNL introduced the SULABH scheme, many opted for it to save a small sum from the rental and to escape from hefty bills. The rental of the Sulabh scheme is Rs.160 which was Rs.90 less than the Rs.250 of the Basic fone.
Now with the New year Number game, BSNL has slashed the rental of the Basic fone from 250 to 180 and increased the call rate to Rs.1.20. But there is no change made in the Sulabh rental, as BSNL is not able to play any number game in it. Sulabh users are not provided with services like outgoing calls, toll free calls etc.
Rental is paid for the incoming calls alone. Now with the rental of Rs.180, the Basic phone users can have all special services, toll-free calls, plus 50 free calls.
The Sulabh users pay Rs.160 and get no other services except incoming calls. Thus the Sulabh users are cheated and there should be immediate steps for proportionate reduction in the Sulabh rental or a conversion to the Basic fone scheme.
